Bilibo and Spinner: Differences and Similarities

A blog to compare the well-known Bilibo and the lesser-known Sitz'l (Spinner). After all, unknown makes (often) unloved, so it's time to put them both in the spotlight and next to each other.

Bilibo

I have been using the Bilibo in my practice for years, but for those who do not know it, first a description. The Bilibo is actually impossible to describe in one word and if I have to; all-rounder .

Because what isn't it? Sometimes a tunnel to drive through with your cars or trains, then a spinning top where you can spin around wonderfully, a bridge to walk over, a box to learn to throw balls or cuddly toys in, a place to relax or just to seek out stimuli.

2 Bilibos fit perfectly on top of each other so you can hide your treasures in them.
Because your legs are a bit further apart when you sit in the Bilibo it is easier to let it spin around and learn to keep your balance. The seat is big enough because I really fit in it to make nice rounds.

Spinner

The Spinner or Sitz'l is similar in its applications to the Bilibo but has other possibilities due to its handles . For example, you can use it as a chair for your cuddly toy or to move small toys.

Also, scooping sand or snow is very easy. 2 Spinners fit well on each other so that you can always discover new possibilities. Standing on it is possible after some practice, but it remains wobbly because it does not come flat on the ground but tilts.

The seat is smaller and deeper than the Bilibo, I couldn't get in myself but my almost 7 year old luckily could. The legs are closer together which makes the challenge of keeping your balance a bit bigger.

Both

Every child comes up with their own applications and variations, which makes the Spinner and the Bilibo not only wonderfully surprising, but also part of the so-called 'open toys' . Toys that you can't be sure what you can do with them and that therefore stimulate the imagination.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor, summer and winter and not only fun for children but also for me as a therapist and parent!
