Wooden toy brand Goki produces itself, plants trees and builds schools

'Inconsistently right is better than consistently wrong'

I came across this sentence somewhere last year and it stuck with me. Sometimes you have that. It gives me a good feeling.

Personal

We try to contribute to sustainability. We get our meat from “our” farmer in Schipborg, I try to buy clothes from sustainable brands, we separate waste, I switched from felt-tip pen to crayon to write the addresses on letterbox post, I only buy paper and boxes from eco-brands and I reuse boxes to send products. I could go on and on, but… it didn’t give me a good feeling, because I also do enough things that aren’t sustainable and they did give me a bad feeling. That changed last year with this mindset!

Good intention for 2018

I am also an entrepreneur, and besides working sustainably within my business where possible, I also want to take a closer look at my supplier. I will visit them one by one and let you know what I have found out about them.
I will not pay attention to quality marks and mandatory figures for sustainable reporting, because here too, inconsistently good is better than consistently bad. But, I have been positively surprised so far!

A positive brand: goki

Always felt like a good brand, and rightly so, I discovered!

-they plant trees: since 2011 60,000

-building schools: one each year together with “terre des hommes” and “Kinder in Afrika”
-own production with a view to purchasing wood and colours with internal and external control
