Coilz? What is that now?
I didn't know them either and certainly didn't understand what you could do with them right away.
But now I'm a fan!
What is it?
Coilz can be ordered in a bag of 4. You will then receive four springs. They are somewhat egg-shaped and have nice pictures on the top. The manufacturer indicates that you can collect them by theme. And indeed, the kids here at home immediately went to see which type they had from which collection, sport, animals or something else.
What can you do with it?
And then, what can these jumping eggs do. ☺️
Now, we're going to test them out. You can use them as a fidget. That's the first thing that comes to mind. We push them in between our thumb and index finger. And they fit together sideways to make a row.
But that's a fun fidget, but not super exciting.
We watch a video and then we see what the real intention is…
Flea game
Do you remember the flea game from the old days? Where you shot chips at a target? I thought that was great!
And this is actually a modern variant.
You place the coilz with one top on the table and push the spring in on the other top. And then let it jump away! Just like in the old days.
Hey, that's much more fun!
Educational
And then it immediately becomes educational.
Because you can now practice various motor skills goals .
First, you can practice the two-point grip between two fingers by shooting the coilz. But you can also practice fine motor skills from the table. You can practice dosing force and precise movement in particular. Especially for young children, this is extra useful to practice.
Eye-hand coordination
And if you can then push the spring in a measured way, it shoots away. But where to? So then you can also aim at a target. This can be far away or closer. This way you immediately practice the coordination of eye movements and hand movements . So targeted and measured movement . And above all with a lot of fun!
Because aiming and dosing is really harder than you think. And that's especially hilarious when you do it with more people at the same time.
You can then start battling each other. Because if the coilz come into contact with each other, they shoot away again.
Nice for inside, but definitely also for outside! And these coilz fit easily in your pocket!
Oh yes, we also made a goal;
first on paper in the flat plane. But later also a real vertical target of cardboard. So the coilz certainly also invite to creative ideas!
So all in all a nice little useful gift that you can always have with you!
