Sensory balls- sensorimotor balls
With the following assignments for the sensory balls you support the visual development of the child:
*Make photo cards of the balls
- Match the balls to the picture
- Have 2 children sit opposite each other and roll 2 different balls to each other. Let the children choose a ball themselves.
With the following assignments you support the tactile development of the child:
- Let the child feel some sensory balls.
- Place a cloth over the balls and let the child feel it.
- For more of a challenge, you can also choose to have the child tell you what he or she feels
- Or point to the picture on which the ball is visible.
- Roll a ball chosen by the child over the child's arms and legs.
- Maybe it can also be done on the back of the hand.
- Let the child roll with different balls.
- Let the child roll 1 ball between 2 hands.
The sensory balls can also be used to help a child calm down :
This can be done by letting the child play with the balls themselves.
- By applying light pressure to the arms, legs and hands with the ball.
