If you don't know them yet, it's high time to get acquainted with these beautiful, versatile, attractive games.
How does this work?
- Choose an assignment from the booklet. There are 80 different assignments, increasing in difficulty.
- Choose, rotate and place your blocks so that the 2D example from the booklet lies in 3D on the table.
- Check the back of the booklet to make sure you did it right.
Motor skills and spatial insight
In my practice I often see children where motor skills and spatial insight do not work ideally. That is why I often look for materials and games where this is trained. This game is extremely suitable for this. You see a construction in 2D in a booklet and build it in 3D with the blocks.
Rebuild
With this game you have to recreate a construction from a book. The different parts have different shapes and in the shapes are colors that change when you turn the block. So it is a search for the right shape and the right color in the star.
Available for use
Shooting Stars is, like most other Smart Games, a game to be played individually.
Suitable for young and older children, but there is also plenty of challenge for adults.
Also extremely suitable for gifted students who can use a challenge.
Executive functions
Multiple executive functions are engaged.
- Flexible thinking : a structure can be built with multiple combinations, but do the stars and colours still match?
- Planning : what should I take into account, good block, good color
- Spatial insight : from 2D to 3D and assembling blocks into a whole
- Problem solving thinking : you have to come up with a plan to recreate the structure properly, where do you start? which block is the start? what do you do next? how do I put my block down?
- Emotion regulation : staying calm and trying other ways
- Perseverance : don't give up and try another combination
