Reflector tape: straighten with both hands

Last year my father-in-law came with four reflector bands for us kids. He had gotten them as advertising in the shopping street. Super fun. Our kids were busy with them for days.
How hard do you have to tap him to make him roll up? Does it hurt? You can build that up carefully on yourself first. Then you put it on a stick and you can hit him. Is that the same for everyone? Is it different if you have clothes on or on your bare arm? A thin T-shirt or thick jeans, does that make a difference? What can he roll on? A soft cuddly toy or a hard stick, what works better?
I was impressed by what they were able to discover in the sensorimotor area with such a small thing. 8 years is an age of discovery, I could see that very well.
But it was a few days later that I realized that this should be in the Toys42hands assortment. Our oldest, now 13 years old, was playing outside with our 2-year-old neighbor boy. You can surprise a 2-year-old, wonderful! So he was completely captivated by this little thing that rolls up from a tight stick into a snail. Again, again, again, a hundred times, and every time just as surprised as the first time.
But as soon as it was rolled up, he gave it back to his big friend who straightened it for him. That is quite a motor challenge for both hands! He hasn't managed that yet, but our daughter with hemiparesis has! And because that little boy enjoyed it so much, she did it 100 times.
Unfortunately I can't supply a 2 year old with the reflector band, but maybe you have one of those running around somewhere in your area.
