These block scissors are suitable for children and adults with limited muscle strength and coordination of the hand and/or arm. The paper only needs to be slid onto the block. The paper is cut by pressing the T-shaped handle down. The handle automatically rises again when the pressure decreases and the block shears are ready for the next cutting movement. The wooden block is heavy and the dycem anti-slip strips on the bottom make it very stable.
Note from my supplier: As you are probably aware we always recommend the 45mm Round Ended Blades for children but we have had people say their Occupational Therapist recommend the long blade on the Table Top Bases for some older children. They told us that depending on the child's ability it is sometimes easier for them to make a cut in the paper with the longer blades.
