Kalaha is a traditional strategy game for two players. The game has simple rules but many tactical options. The winner is the one who collects the most pieces in his Kalaha (large hollow on the right).
During each turn, the gems are taken from a hole and distributed one by one in the holes next to it. This requires good finger motor skills. The different shapes of the stones make this an interesting finger exercise.
The game is based on tactical thinking: which hole do I take, mixing, estimating proportions and counting: how far can I get out of a hole with the stones and strategic thinking: what will my opponent do.
The playing time is manageable with 10-20 minutes. The playing time and level can be adjusted with the number of starting stones. There are enough.
Ideal for in between or for a few games in a row.
