This Chinese finger trap captures your child's two index fingers in either end of this narrow cylinder. The trap is woven from reeds. If the fingers are trapped, the normal reaction is to pull them to get them out again. As a result, the diameter of the finger trap becomes smaller and longer and the finger becomes stuck. To release the fingers again, however, you have to push your fingers together and thus increase the diameter again. Funny children's gadget.
